The Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA) Nanaimo Chapter needed a logo and marketing materials for its first art show. It was required to be easily scalable and readable as well as versatile. Print and digital items that would be developed included posters, rack cards, business cards, numerous ballots, labels and tickets, screen displays, and online ads.
The logo achieved the aims defined. In addition, it ties in a nautical motif that reflects the art group’s location in Nanaimo, a city that identifies itself as the “Harbour City”. This logo features customized sans serif lettering with rounded corners and wave-like joiners. The logo and visual identity brought together vibrant colours, textures, and a clean aesthetic that met with widespread approval across print, digital and screen items. It continues to be carried forward by the FCA Chapter annually.
